MEND maintains innovation and translation alliances catalyzed through a network of pharmaceutical scientists, engineers, and other researchers, from industry and academia, involved in the development and implementation of drug and vaccine delivery technologies.

The most appropriate technological solutions, from the perspectives of disease therapy and prevention, patient compliance and expense, are assessed to address the most critical needs of developing world vaccines and therapies.

MEND's primary mission with respect to innovation and translation is to provide a forum where solutions to the pharmaceutical needs of diseases of poverty can be addressed in an appropriate manner from simple formulation strategies to promising advanced technologies with the intention that products are developed rapidly for commercialization and to benefit under served patient populations.
