MEND Innovation & Translation Alliance Management (MITAM)
MITAM’s primary mission is to provide a nexus where the most promising advanced technologies can be vetted against the most daunting issues confronting vaccine & drug candidates for diseases of poverty, and yield solutions to allow real products to get to market.
The initiative’s primary goals are to:
- Create and maintain a networked community of pharmaceutical scientists, engineers, and others, from industry and academia, involved in the development and implementation of advanced delivery technology.
- Maintain a scientific advisory board, with majority membership from developing countries, to evaluate potential applications of advanced delivery technologies and vaccine candidates
- Identify the most daunting hurdles to the development of existing vaccine/therapeutic candidates for the primary diseases of poverty (HIV, Malaria, TB), as well as other neglected tropical diseases.
- Unite the delivery technology community together with the vaccine/therapy researchers to:
- participate in regular, creative innovation colloquia in order to generate new thinking and approaches
- propose solutions to the hurdles, and fund those solutions through feasibility and/or preclinical
