What is Cefzil?
Cefzil (cefprozil) is a specially formulated antibiotic that eliminates bacteria from your body. It is a cephalosporin (SEF a low spor in) antibiotic that treats several kinds of infections caused by bacteria.

Cefzil side effects
Even though the intake of Cefzil is tolerable for the patient but there are situations when an emergency medical help may be needed. These include difficulty breathing, swelling on lips, throat, tongue or face.
Call your doctor immediately in case you find following symptoms:
- Feeling short of breath
- Severe pain in lower back
- Rapid weight gain
- Red or swollen gums
- Dark urine
- Urinating less than normal
- Severe pain in upper stomach
Other Side Effects:
- Mild skin rash
- Flu symptoms
- Vaginal discharge

What happens if I miss a dose?
In case you miss a dose then take the skipped dose as soon as remembers. But the missed dose should only be taken if the next dose is not scheduled to avoid the side effects of overdose.

What should I avoid while taking Cefzil?
You should avoid taking antibiotic medicines while using Cefzil as they can cause diarrhea, which may be a symptom of new infection. You should meet the doctor immediately and ask for instant rescue.
How should I take Cefzil?
The intake of the medicine should be made as prescribed by the doctor. It is very important for the patient to read through all the directions carefully so that no smaller or larger use of the medicine is made.
In case of oral suspension of Cefzil the liquid solution should be measured first with a dose-measuring device. This will help prevent smaller or larger intake of medicine.
Never recommend the use of medicine to your friend who is suffering from same problem.
Always tell your doctor beforehand that you are using Cefzil. It is so because the use of the same may show unusual results with certain lab tests for glucose (sugar) in the urine.
